The Christmas Recital Assignment is required of all band students grades 6 - 12 and is due on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. This assignment is worth 100 points! All band students should take their instruments home and perform a recital for parents, friends, and relatives. Please help your child(ren) find an appropriate time to perform for a supportive audience. Parents, a suggestion would be to have your child(ren) perform prior to gift opening or for family gatherings. Playing a solo in church is also encouraged and would meet the recital requirement.
Students should plan their selections ahead of time using the format below. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders can choose songs from their lesson books and/or band music. Senior high students have been given holiday packets with several songs included. Students can also perform solo/ensemble music.
